“Rīgas satiksme” has made a conceptual agreement with “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme” (RMS) on changes to the minibus route network. It is planned to introduce the changes in several stages from 1 May, 1 June and 1 September. The planned changes will include new connections, contribute to more coherent schedules and will result in fewer overlapping routes. It should be noted that the changes are agreed only between the carriers, and in order for them to become effective they require the support of the Riga City Council Passenger Commercial Transportation Licensing Commission and the Riga City Council Department of Traffic.

From 1 May, “Rīgas satiksme” intends to implement the following changes:

the minibus route No. 209 will be shortened to Višķu iela. The section of the minibus route “Ķengarags - Purvciems” to Rumbula will be closed.

The minibus route No. 204 will be changed in the direction from Jugla. From then on, the minibuses would cross Ķengarags in both directions. The minibuses from Jugla would take the route to Slāvu overpass, then down to Maskavas iela ramp, along Maskavas iela, Prūšu iela, Rušonu iela, Salaspils iela, Lubānas iela and then continue along the regular route.

The minibus route No. 214 would be extended to Biķernieku iela circle (IKEA). The minibuses from Center would move along the regular route to Kaivas iela, then further along Kaivas iela and Biķernieku iela to the final stop in IKEA parking area. In the direction towards the Center, the minibuses would travel along Biķernieku iela until the intersection with Hipokrātu iela, then turn around in the opposite direction to continue along Biķernieku iela, Kaivas iela and further on along the regular route.

The minibus route No. 246 would be shortened and now the minibuses would run in a route “Center - Daugavgrīva”, the section of the route from Center to Pļavnieki would be closed. There would also be changes to the schedule.

The express bus route No. 370 in the direction from Imanta will be changed. The express buses would run in the direction from Imanta along the route to Ilūkstes iela, then further on along Ilūkstes iela, A.Deglava iela, A.Saharova iela and then continue along the regular route. Thus, the section of the route across Pļavnieki would be the same in both directions.

From 1 June, “Rīgas satiksme” intends to implement the following changes:

Significant changes are planned for the minibus route No. 203. Minibuses from Pļavnieki would run along A.Saharova iela, Ak.M.Keldiša iela, Ulbrokas iela, Biķernieku iela, Hipokrāta iela, Malienas iela, Juglas iela, Murjāņu iela. From Jugla they would travel along Murjāņu iela, Brīvības gatve, Silciema iela, Murjāņu iela, Juglas iela, Malienas iela, Hipokrāta iela, biķernieku iela, Ulbrokas iela, Ak.M. Keldiša iela, Saharova iela. This would create a quick connection between Pļavnieki and Mežciems and Jugla, as the current bus routes only provide this connection by passing through Purvciems.

It is offered to combine the minibus route No. 206 and No. 271 and create a minibus route No. 271 “Mežciems - P.Stradiņa slimnīca”. Minibuses would run from Mežciems along the regular route No. 206 to Brīvības gatve and the route from P.Stradiņš hospital would run to centre of Riga along the regular route No. 271. In more detail, the route would start from Mežciems along Gaiļezera iela, Hipokrāta iela, Malienas iela, Juglas iela, Murjāņu iela, Silciema iela, Brīvības gatve, Brīvības iela, Brīvības bulvāris, Raiņa bulvāris, 13. janvāra iela, 11. novembra krastmala, Akmens bridge, Uzvaras bulvāris, Bāriņu iela, Mārupes iela, Tukuma iela and Pilsoņu iela. From P.Stradiņš hospital, the minibuses would run along Pilsoņu iela, Liepājas iela, Mārupes iela, Bāriņu iela, uzvaras bulvāris, Akmens bridge, 11. novembra krastmala, 13. janvāra iela, Marijas iela, Merķeļa iela, Brīvības bulvāris, Brivības iela, Brīvības gatve, Silciema iela, Murjāņu iela, Juglas iela, Malienas iela, Hipokrāta iela and Gaiļezera iela.

Some changes are planned for the minibus route No. 224. The minibus would run from Center along the route to Emmas iela, then further along Vecāķu prospekts and then along its regular route (without entering Vecmīlgrāvis). From Mangaļsala, the minibuses would run along their regular route to Vecāķu prospekts, then along Vecāķu prospekts to Emmas iela and then along the route to the center of Riga.

It is also intended to change the minibus schedule for the route No. 233 during the day, reducing the number of runs in the middle of the day.

As every year, also during this beach season, the minibus No. 300 will enter Vecāķi.

It is offered to introduce changes to the express bus route No. 322 in the direction from the Center. The minibuses would run along the regular route to Kalnciema iela, then along Kalnciema iela, Lielirbes iela, K.Ulmaņa gatve and continue on the regular route to the airport “Riga”.

It is offered to change the express bus route No. 336 in both directions in Zolitūde. The buses would run along the route from Center to Anniņmuižas iela, then along Anniņmuižas iela, Rostokas iela and continue along the regular route to the destination. From Zolitūde, the express buses would run along the route to Rostokas iela, then along Rostokas iela, Anniņmuižas iela and continue along the regular route to the destination.

From 1 September, “Rīgas satiksme” intends to implement the following changes:

Changes will be made to the schedule of the minibus route No. 209, improving the schedule at the time, when the bus route No. 49 is not active.

The minibus route No. 237 will no longer we available on holidays.

There are other changes planned for Septemeber, based on the results of the previous improvements made from 1 Mau and 1 June.
