“Rīgas satiksme” calls on car drivers entering Riga to use public transport to reach Riga centre
Given the fact that today at 5.00 the State Police closed the viaduct in A. Deglava Street, “Rīgas satiksme” calls on car drivers to refrain from going to the city centre by their cars and to use public transport actively. “Rīgas satiksme” also calls on drivers to leave their cars near terminals of buses, trolleybuses and trams to ensure a more comfortable transfer to public transport.
“Rīgas satiksme” calls on drivers to take the opportunity and leave their cars in car parks next to the trade centres located near the city borders, where it is allowed and is in conformity with the company’s policy, i.e. where no additional fee is charged for a longer parking, because here you can transfer to Riga public transport. In this crisis situation caused by ill-considered political decision of state authorities, “Rīgas satiksme” also calls on drivers to use the services of AS “Pasažieru vilciens” electric trains to reach the city centre. At the same time, “Rīgas satiksme” calls on drivers to abide by road traffic regulations and reminds that in case of violating stopping and parking regulations a person may be subject to an administrative fine or, in case of breaching the rules of private car parks, to the fines of their operators.
