„Rīgas satiksme” calls on parents to apply for „Pupil’s e-card” at www.eriga.lv until September 25

„Rīgas satiksme” calls on parents of pupils of 5th and 10th forms, as well as of those who have changed school, to apply for „Pupil’s e-cards” at www.eriga.lv until September 25. Thus it will be possible to receive the „Pupil’s e-card” at school and parents will not have to go anywhere else to receive the card. If the card is applied for after September 25, it will be possible to receive it at „Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres only. „Rīgas satiksme” informs that the status entitling pupils to fare discount will be granted to pupils of forms 5 and 10 until September 15. If the old „Pupil’s e-card” is registered in public transport on September 16, the validator will signal by red light that the trip is not registered.

To avoid unpleasant situations, „Rīgas satiksme” calls for „Pupil’s e-card” to be received as soon as possible, otherwise pupils have to carry, until September 25, a certificate issued by school or an identity document with them, so that ticket inspectors could check the pupil’s age.

„Rīgas satiksme” reminds that parents shall fill application forms for „Pupil’s e-card” at www.eriga.lv. The data about the pupil and his/her school will be selected automatically, yet a photo is also to be attached to the application. Based on the information received, „Rīgas satiksme” will manufacture „Pupil’s e-cards” and will deliver it to the necessary school, where the headmaster will sign the cards and issue them to pupils.

If the application is filled after September 25, then the card will be issued in the selected customer service centre after presenting an ID document. After that the card has to be delivered to and signed by the school’s headmaster – now in Riga the „Pupil’s e-card” fulfils the function of the pupil’s certificate.

The time limit for submitting applications is extended due to the low activity of applicants. To avoid queues in „Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres, „Rīgas satiksme” calls on parents to apply for the „Pupil’s e-card” electronically until September 25 at www.eriga.lv, which will allow the card to be received at school.

Starting from academic year 2015/2016, in order to make the procedure of application for the pupil’s e-card and its restoration faster and more convenient, the IT centre of Riga City Council together with „Rīgas satiksme” and Riga City Council’s Department for Education, Culture and Sports have developed a new electronic service „Application for pupil’s e-card”, which enables parents to submit a remote application for a new card.
