"Rīgas satiksme" calls on pupils of 11th and 12th forms to extend their right to fare discounts in ticket machines using e-tickets or Pupil’s e-cards
"Rīgas satiksme" calls on pupils of the 11th and 12th forms of Riga schools to extend the status giving them the right to fare discounts in public transport, which is fixed in their e-tickets or Pupil’s e-cards, until September 15, so that they could use public transport free of charge also in the new academic year.
Until the above date the pupils of the 11th and 12th forms have to go to one of e-ticket vending machines of "Rīgas satiksme" (except in low-floor trams) and insert their pupil’s e-card or e-ticket, and the status will be extended automatically. In addition to extending the status, a free ticket is to be loaded into the Pupil’s e-card or e-ticket by confirming menu „Jā” (see the picture):
In case of a successful extension, the restored contents of the Pupil’s e-card or e-ticket will be shown on the display, after which the card can be removed.
If the status is not extended until September 15, the discount will not be effective and registration in public transport will be denied. Tickets will have to be bought at full price until the pupil extends the status giving the right to fare discounts.
If a pupil fails to extend the status in one of the ticket machines, he/she has to visit one of „Rīgas satiksme” seven customer service centres. Pupils declared in Riga but attending schools outside Riga are also invited to customer service centres. When going to a customer service centre, they have to take a pupil’s e-card and an identity document.
