“Rīgas satiksme” explains to passengers why video surveillance is necessary in public transport
"Rīgas satiksme" started to place materials of a new information campaign at public transport stops, under schedule plates. The new campaign explains to passengers why video surveillance is necessary in public transport.
One of the reasons why video surveillance is necessary is security. It also helps decrease vandalism, protect passengers, evaluate circumstances of accidents and improve service quality. It should be mentioned that short videos are shown on monitors in public transport to remind passengers about video surveillance. The State Data Inspection admitted that showing such videos is admissible and justified.
“Rīgas satiksme” places various information and instructive materials about using public transport in vehicles, as well as in social networks, at public transport stops and elsewhere. Earlier there was information at public transport stops about various services available on “Rīgas satiksme” web page.
