“Rīgas satiksme” invites passengers who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 outside Latvia to register their certificates so that after November 15 they can continue to use public transport with a discount
From November 15, discounts in Riga public transport will be renewed only for those adult passengers who will have a valid COVID-19 certificate. Adults who do not have an interoperable COVID-19 certificate, in “Rīgas satiksme” public transport will have to purchase tickets at full price and these customers will not be able to use the discounts that were applied until October 21. “Rīgas satiksme” has started exchanging information with the National Health Service, however, vaccination data on those passengers who have been vaccinated outside Latvia were not received. Therefore, “Rīgas satiksme” invites customers who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 outside Latvia to register their certificates, so that after November 15, they can use public transport with a discount.
Adults who from November 15 will not have an interoperable COVID-19 certificate will be required to purchase full fare tickets and the existing e-tickets with the registered status of the discount recipient will be permanently blocked. The moment a person obtains an interoperable COVID-19 certificate, he/she will have to go to one of the “Rīgas satiksme” customer service centres and make a new e-ticket, paying 2.85 euro for it.
For those customers who have an interoperable COVID-19 or recovery certificate, as well as for pupils and pupils of vocational schools in Riga, the discounts in public transport will be renewed automatically and the fare reductions will be available in the same amount as before October 21.
Passengers who receive discounts from the state - persons with group I or II disability, persons under 18 years of age with a disability and a person accompanying a person with group I disability or a person under 18 years of age with a disability, regardless of whether they have a COVID-19 certificate or not, will be able to continue to use public transport with a 100% discount.
For the passengers who already use full fare tickets in public transport the new procedure does not introduce any changes. These passengers for payment for the trip can use travel tickets for 1.15 euro, time tickets for 2.30 euro and one-month tickets for all days of the month, all modes of transport that cost 50 euros, one-month tickets for weekdays that cost 40 euros or a one-month ticket for one route.
Passengers who purchase full fare tickets in public transport, in “Rīgas satiksme” public transport can pay with a code ticket that costs 1.15 euro. The code ticket can be purchased in the applications of “Rīgas satiksme” and “Mobilly”, whereas, the third application of the association of persons “SP Grupa” is still being developed. When entering public transport, it must be registered by scanning the QR code.
Furthermore, full fare tickets can be purchased in advance sale outlets - ticket vending machines located in the street and in more than 400 points of sale in Riga.
