“Rīgas satiksme” keeps on explaining causes of public transport delays to passengers
In 87% of cases “Rīgas satiksme” ensures its public transport keeping within schedules, yet there are factors which the company cannot affect. Therefore in October “Rīgas satiksme” launched a campaign to inform Riga residents and to explain conditions that may cause public transport delays.
In the opinion poll carried out on www.rigassatiksme.lv in November, the company asked website users to answer the following question: “Do you know possible causes of public transport delays?” 10% of the website users or 170 respondents answered that public transport uses public roads and may get into traffic congestion. Other options did not exceed 2%, yet a majority (75%) answered that public transport traffic may be hindered by all the causes mentioned in reply options (transport uses public roads and may get into congestion, transport flow may be affected by road accidents and repair works, weather conditions (snow, rain, icing, broken trees etc.), vehicles may also have technical problems, public transport may be also delayed by passengers running to the stop). 9% of respondents marked option “Other”. 1380 replies were received during the poll.
“Rīgas satiksme” reminds: the campaign about causes of public transport delays was launched in October 2015. „Rīgas satiksme” calls on passengers to be understanding and to plan their trips in advance!
