"Rīgas satiksme" received and answered 60504 questions from clients in two months
More than a year ago, on October 1, 2011, the company made significant changes to become more open and available to customers. Toll-free information phone 80001919 is now available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The company also started active communication in social media (twitter, facebook, draugiem).
"Rīgas satiksme" registers and structures all questions received from clients, including the evaluation of references. Based on the data received, the company explores the situation, evaluates the dynamics of questions and looks for solutions to make the everyday life of its clients easier, if necessary. For example, several years ago the company started to service pupils/students in their educational institutions, and recently remote activation of reduced fare benefit has been developed and successfully implemented in several educational institutions, using their internal information systems.
Most frequently clients ask questions about the network of public transport routes. In September and October Rīgas satiksme received and answered more than 40000. Most of them were about public transport arrival and departure times, how to get from point A to point B. There is also active interest for changes in public transport traffic. It should be noted that early this year the company updated its webpage and developed its mobile version. The version of public transport schedules has been also improved by adding a new route searching system, which makes it much easier for passengers to find the necessary information.
September and October are the months when pupils and students are the most active clients, as they need to extend the status entitling them to paying a reduced or no fare. In these two months "Rīgas satiksme" received more than 9000 questions related to the reduced fare, getting and using e-tickets and Pupil’s e-cards.
