"Rīgas satiksme" starts remote loading of free one-month tickets

Following the decision of Riga City Council, on January 29 "Rīgas satiksme" starts remote loading of free one-month tickets granted to persons who have registered their place of residence within the administrative borders of Riga city in the period of September 25 – December 31, 2013. Free one-month tickets will be loaded into "Riga resident’s cards" or e-tickets of the above persons, who will be able to start using these tickets as of February 1, 2014. Therefore, these customers will not have to go anywhere to receive the tickets.

Everybody whose "Riga resident’s card" or e-ticket will be loaded with a free one-month ticket to be used in "Rīgas satiksme" buses, trolleybuses and trams will receive an SMS/e-mail informing that the free ticket is available. It will be possible to activate the free one-month tickets as of February 1, 2014. The free ticket will be activated when the client will register his/her "Riga resident’s card" or e-ticket in public transport using a validator.

Should a client whose "Riga resident’s card" or e-ticket is loaded with a free one-month ticket have another active one-month ticket for all means of public transport on his/her "Riga resident’s card" or e-ticket, the free one-month ticket will be activated only when the previous ticket expires. If the customer is using tickets for a certain number of trips, the free one-month ticket will be activated when registered for the first time after February 1. Should a client having received a free one-month have an active one-month ticket for one route of one means of public transport on his/her "Riga resident’s card" or e-ticket, the free one month ticket will be activated either when the previous ticket expires or at the moment when the client registers his/her "Riga resident’s card" or e-ticket on another route/means of public transportation. Therefore, such client should be particularly careful and visit a "Rīgas satiksme" customer service centre in case any questions arise.

The customer service centres of "Rīgas satiksme" are located at: Brīvības Street 49/53, Brīvības Street 191, Brīvības Street 384b, Prāgas Street 1, Spīķeru Street 1, Vienības gatve 76b, Vienības gatve 117a and Kurzemes Avenue 137. These centres are open daily from 9.00 till 21.00 (the centre at Brīvības Street 49/53 is open from 8.00 till 21.00). On Saturdays and Sundays the centres are open from 9.00 till 19.00.
