"Rīgas satiksme" to revise the list of occasions for festive decoration of public transport
Following instructions of Riga Mayor Nils Ušakovs, Rīgas satiksme will revise the list of dates when buses, trolleybuses and trams in the city are decorated with small national flags. Starting from 2012, Riga public transport will be decorated not only on May 4, November 18, during the European week and on the occasion of the Riga city festival, but also on November 11 and the New Year’s Day.
The question of decorating public transport was discussed during the city mayor’s visit to "Rīgas satiksme" on November 14.
The decoration of public transport on festive days is regulated by "Rīgas satiksme" rules of order, and the costs of decorating the public transport actually do not affect the budget of "Rīgas satiksme".
