Bus routes No. 3 and 36 extended to Vakarbuļļi as of June 1

For customers’ convenience, from June 1 till the end of the summer season, "Rīgas satiksme" will extend bus routes No. 3 and 36 to Vakarbuļļi, where one of the most popular Riga beaches is located. Bus schedules will be also changed accordingly.

On route No. 36, buses will run to Vakarbuļļi every day, but on route No. 3 – on Saturdays, Sundays and festive days. It should be reminded that there was a small passenger flow on bus route No. 36 in winter season, so the number of buses running to Vakarbuļļi was reduced.

Vadims Baraņņiks, chairman of the Riga City Council Traffic and Transport Affairs Committee: „ Extending bus routes No. 3 and 36 to Vakarbuļļi beach will make it easier for many Riga residents to reach this popular seaside resort. Particularly for residents of Pļavnieki and Imanta, who will be able to go to the seashore without transfers. Other routes will be also rescheduled in the summer season, which will allow the city residents to reach Riga’s official beaches in an easier and faster way      .”

The beach of Vakarbuļļi has become one of the most popular holiday resorts for Riga residents, therefore this year it was decided again to increase the number of buses which deliver passengers to the beach on the days with the highest passenger flow.
