Closure of negotiated procedure on minibus transportation in Riga: RMS will continue to provide the service
“Rīgas satiksme” informs about the closure of the negotiated procedure on the delivery of increased comfort service within the public transport route network of Riga city, as a result of which a contract on the delivery of the above service was signed with “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme” (RMS). The contract has been signed on the delivery of the service on 13 minibus routes and 7 express bus routes for a period of eight years.
“Rīgas satiksme” started the negotiated procedure on the delivery of increased comfort services in the public transport route network of Riga city in the summer of 2016. Initially, qualification requirements were appealed against, but then the evaluation criteria included in the procedure statutes were appealed against several times. Following the instructions of the Procurement Monitoring Bureau and the court, the statutes of the negotiation procedure were amended for the last time in September 2018, after which no complaints about the statutes were filed and only one applicant, “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme”, applied for the procedure.
We remind that “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme” provides increased comfort services in the public transport route network of Riga city since May 2013. “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme” carries more than 10 million passengers per year on the average in the public transport route network of Riga city.
