Controllers of “Rīgas satiksme”: more and more passengers use the nose and mouth covers
From 12 – 26 May controllers of “Rīgas satiksme” have carried out 8588 inspection of public transport vehicles, more than 500 of them were carried out together with Riga Municipal Police. During the inspections, the ticket controllers remind the passengers of using the nose and mouth covers and control whether the passengers have purchased and registered their rides.
According to the notes taken by the controllers of “Rīgas satiksme”, more and more passengers use the nose and mouth covers in public transport:
“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that in accordance with the Government instructions and ordinance of LR Ministry of Traffic, a nose and mouth cover must be used in trams, trolleys and buses from 12 May thus reducing the risks of spreading COVID-19 as much as possible. During the ride, the nose and mouth can be covered with a respirator, mask, scarf or shawl.
To reduce a risk of spreading “COVID-19” everyone needs to be involved, therefore it is important for citizens to have as little social contact as possible and to use public transport during an emergency only if there is no alternative.
