Customer service centres of "Rīgas satiksme" offer collection of e-tickets

Starting from today, all customer service centres of "Rīgas satiksme" offer to buy folders with a collection of yellow e-tickets.

Since the spring of 2009, Riga public transport operates a system of electronic payments, which is based on e-tickets. Passengers can choose one of two blue e-tickets or a yellow one, which is the most popular ticket. To make trips in Riga public transport more colourful, the design of yellow e-tickets is changed twice a year: it is decorated by a photo of a Riga view or a child’s drawing. Until the end of 2011, five types of yellow e-tickets have been in circulation, now they are collected in a special folder and can be bought as souvenirs.

The e-tickets collected in the folder can be reloaded with any ticket by which yellow e-tickets can be reloaded, including tickets for 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 or 20 trips, group tickets for 2 or 3 persons, as well as 24-hour tickets, 3-day tickets and various types of 5-day tickets. Like any other e-tickets, these can be also used for trip registration. Tickets loaded onto an e-ticket are to be used within 12 months from the moment of loading.

Rīgas satiksme established the tradition of decorating e-tickets with children drawings once a year in 2010, when visitors of the company’s website recognised the drawing of a low-floor tram by Vinetas Siliņa to be the best, but in 2011 the tram drawn by Kristofers won the contest by an overwhelming majority of votes.

81% of those who participated in an opinion survey on "Rīgas satiksme" website acknowledged that they like e-tickets with Riga views or children drawings. Only 5% prefer tickets decorated by the e-ticket logotype, but 14% of respondents say that design does not matter.

It should be reminded that customer service centres of "Rīgas satiksme" are located in Riga at Spīķeru Street 1, Prāgas Street 1, Brīvības Street 191, Brīvības gatve 384b, Kurzemes Avenue 137 and Vienības gatvē 76b.
