Due to closure of Brasa overpass bus No 11T runs on the route of the tram No 11

Today, on June 9, the Riga City Council Traffic Department, referring to the information provided by the contractors, gave the order to immediately close traffic over Brasa overpass. „Rīgas satiksme” informs that the tram No 11 route is closed and substituted by bus No 11T  „Ausekļa street – Mežaparks”. Changes are also made to the route of the bus No 9.

Bus No 11T will run from the tram stop “Ausekļa street”, proceed along Ausekļa street, Elizabetes street, Kronvalda boulevard, Krišjāņa Valdemāra street, Raiņa boulevard, Brīvības boulevard, Brīvības street, Cēsu street, Tallinas street, Miera street, Klusā street, over the temporary railway crossing at the Brasa railway station, Gauja street, Koknese prospect, Meža prospect until the terminus stop of the bus No 9  „Mežaparks”.

From the terminus stop „Mežaparks” the busses will run along Meža prospect,  Koknese prospect,  Ķīšezera street, Gaujas street, over the temporary railway crossing at the Brasa railway station, Klusā street, Miera street, Tallinas street, Cēsu street, Brīvības street, Brīvības boulevard, Kalpaka boulevard, Krišjāņa Valdemāra street, Kronvalda boulevard until the tram terminus stop „Ausekļa street”.

The busses will stop on the existing stops in by the bypass route (see the map here).

Single route monthly tickets, which will be first time registered on the tram No 11 by June 9, will be valid for driving on the bus No 11T without registration.

Busses No 9:

  • in the direction from Abrene street will run along the route until Miera street, then proceed along Miera street, Klusā street,  over the temporary railway crossing at the Brasa railway station, along Gaujas street and then to Mežaparks along the route;
  •  in the direction from Mežaparks will run along the route until Gaujas street, then proceed to Gaujas street, over the temporary railway crossing at the Brasa railway, along Miera street and then to Abrene street along the route. 

Until now on weekdays 7 trams were running along the tram route No 11. In order to ensure maximum distancing possibilities in the public transport salons, on the weekdays in the mornings and after 16:00 o’clock 2 additional trams were put on the route.  The bus No 11T running schedule was improved in relation to the schedule of tram No 11 to allow accommodating the potential passenger flow. The traffic on the route will be provided by 13 busses (with the length of 18 metres).

Additional 4 trams were out on the tram route No 1 to improve transport possibilities in Krišjāņa Barona street.

“Rīgas satiksme” will follow the situation and revise the route or make changes in the schedule if necessary.
