During Midsummer holidays, on June 23 and 24, public transport services will be free of charge
"Rīgas satiksme" informs that on June 23 and 24 the services of Riga public transport and pay parking lots operated by "Rīgas satiksme" will be available free of charge. Additional public transport runs will be organized in the Midsummer night. There will be also changes in the use of workday monthly tickets, public transport traffic and operation of parking lots and customer service centres due to the transfer of a workday from Monday, June 22, to the after-holiday Saturday, June 27.
Public transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams)
On June 23 and 24 public transport will run according to holiday schedules.
Throughout the night of June23/24 additional public transport runs will be organised approximately every 30 minutes so as to cover as many city districts as possible and deliver passengers to and from places where festive events will take place. There will be additional runs on bus routes No. 3, 11, combined 12/23/26 (runs across Akmens Bridge), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 50, 51 and 53, tram routes No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11, and trolleybus routes No.9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27.
For passengers’ comfort, in the Midsummer night (June 23/24), buses of all routes crossing the Akmens Bridge and going in direction of Pārdaugava will stop to pick up passengers at public transport stop „Grēcinieku Street”, where passengers get on/off trams No. 2, 4, 5 and 10, trolleybuses No. 9, 27 and bus No. 22.
Information about additional runs and routes will be available at public transport stops located in the city centre. The schedule of additional runs is also available here.
On June 22 public transport (buses, trams and trolleybuses) will run according to holiday schedules, but on Saturday, June 27, (working day transferred from June 22) the working day schedule will be in force.
Tickets
On June 23 and 24 public transport (bus, trolleybus, tram) will be available free of charge.
Those passengers having bought monthly tickets for working days should take into account that these will be invalid on June 22 and will be valid on June 27.
Customer service centres
On June 20 all customer service centres of "Rīgas satiksme"will be working according to Saturday’s schedule (from 10:00 till 16:00), except the one located at Brīvības Street 49/53, which will be open from 10:00 till 15:00 on June 20.
On June 21 and 22 the customer service centre at Spīķeru Street 1 will be open from 10:00 till 16:00.
On June 23 and 24 all customer service centres will be closed.
On June 27 all customer services will work according to the working day schedule (from 9:00 till 19:00), except the one located at Brīvības Street 49/53, which on this day will be open from 8:00 till 17:00.
Retro tram
The Retro tram will run every day on June 20 - 24, as well as on June 28. The Retro tram will not run on June 27. You shall pay fare in the Retro tram as usually – buying tickets from driver (price of ticket is EUR 2.00, for children under 7 years it is free of charge).
Parking lots
On June 23 and 24 the municipal parking lots of "Rīgas satiksme" will be available free of charge, except for the underground parking located at K.Valdemāra Street 5a next to the House of Congresses, where parking services will be provided according to the tariffs being currently in force.
On June 22 and 27 pay parking lots operated by "Rīgas satiksme" will be open from 9:00 till 17:00, in Vecāķi from 8:00 till 20:00 and in Vecrīgā from 6:00 till 24:00. On these days, parking services at the underground parking at K.Valdemāra Street 5a near the House of Congresses will be available in accordance with the tariffs currently in force.
Minibuses
On June 23 and 24 minibuses will run according to the holiday schedule. We remind that free transportation services do not apply to minibuses, where trips shall be paid for as usually, buying a ticket either in advance or from driver for EUR 2.00.
On Monday, June 22, and Saturday, June 27, minibuses will run according to Saturday’s schedule.
Night transport
The night transport will run in the night of June 27/28.
