From 20 January, the number of trips on bus route 47 will be increased
To improve public transport accessibility in Šķirotava neighbourhood and Getliņi, the bus route 47 will change from 20 January. From now on, buses will run from Getliņi to Purvciems, the terminus of trolleybuses 17 and 23. This change will ensure more frequent service intervals and more accurate schedules, as the bus will no longer pass through the busiest traffic sections in the city centre. As before, all route 47 buses will arrive in Šķirotava. On weekdays, the number of trips will increase from 29 to 48. The changes have been made after consultations with the residents of Šķirotava and the Getliņi neighbourhood, taking into account their suggestions.
The changes to the route will extend the range of bus times. In the early morning hours, passengers will have better access to Getliņi, with the first bus to Getliņi arriving at 6.33 (currently 7.12). Similarly, the last bus from Purvciems will arrive in Šķirotava at 22.15 (currently the last bus arrives at 21.11). In the direction from Getliņi to Purvciems, the last trip will be made at 21.10 (currently the last trip is at 20.30), while at 21.50 and 22.30 trips will be made from Getliņi to the stop “A. Saharova iela”.
Residents of Šķirotava neighbourhood and Getliņi will still be able to reach several important nearby facilities – educational institutions, shopping services, medical institutions – without transfers. Residents with a destination in the city centre area will have plenty of options to transfer to one of the regular bus and trolleybus routes on Andreja Saharova iela, Augusta Deglava iela, Dzelzavas iela, as well as Krustpils iela.
