In August, 21 899 public transport checks were carried out

The statistics of "Rīgas satiksme" on the checks conducted in August 2016 are as follows:

No. of fare dodgers (subject to penalty) on public transport:
On trams	981
On trolleybuses	1755
On buses	2469
Total:	5205
Including:
Penalty receipts	1283
Penalty invoices	3922

There were 400 more fare dodgers than in July 2016 – 4805 passengers were penalised for riding public transport without a ticket.

For comparison – in July 2016, 19 541 checks were conducted which is 2358 less than in August 2016.

In August 2016, passengers were penalised for fare dodging the most on trolleybus route No. 15 – 370 passengers; however, passengers were penalised the least on bus routes No. 34, 54, and 57 – one passenger on each bus.
