May holidays: changes in public transport and parking services, as well as in customer service centre operations
For passengers to return home more comfortably, there will be extra public transport on several routes on May 4 after 22.00. There will be extra trams on routes No. 4, 5, 6, 7 and 11, extra buses on routes No. 6t, 12, 23, 26 (combined), 37 and 52, and trolleybuses on routes No. 14, 15, 17, 18 and 22. As for other public transport routes, there will be enough capacity for all passengers to return home after 22:00.
Due to the festive events in Lucavsala, on May 4 buses No. 40 and 42 will stop to take on/let out passengers at „Lucavsala” stop (in direction of Ziepniekkalns). As many passengers are expected to go in this direction, the routes passing by Lūcavsala will be served by trolleybuses and buses of bigger capacity.
To make it easier for passengers to go to festive events organised on the occasion of opening culture palace „Ziemeļblāzma”, there will be extra vehicles on bus route No. 2 on May 4 (11.00-22.00) and on May 5 (11:00-21:00). We also remind that on May 4 buses No. 2, 24 and 29 will carry passengers free of charge.
To meet passengers’ demand, on May 5 vehicles of bigger capacity will run on the routes passing by cemeteries.
Extra buses launched for Ziemeļblāzma festival May 4
On May 4, 5 and 6 public transport (trams, trolleybuses, buses) will run according to holiday schedules. Minibuses will run according to Sunday schedules, schedules of some minibus routes will be shortened.
Night transport will run in the nights of May 3/4 and May 4/5. We remind that tickets in the night transport are only available from driver for 1 lats.
The Retro tram will run on May 4, 5 and 6. Tickets in the Retro tram are sold by the tram driver and are valid until he terminal. The price of one ticket for adults is LVL 1.00, for schoolchildren and students LVL 0.50 (they have to present a document confirming their status). Children until the age of 7 years, orphans until the age of 18 years, disabled persons of group 1 and 2, disabled persons until the age of 18 years, as well as persons accompanying disabled persons of group 1 or disabled persons until the age of 18 years can use the Retro-tram free of charge after presenting documents confirming their status.
Those passengers having bought one-month tickets for workdays should take into account that these will not be valid in public transport on May 6.
For our clients’ comfort one customer service centre will be open on May 4, 5 and 6 at Spīķeru Street 1 (from 10:00 till 16:00). Other customer service centres will be closed.
Pay parking-lots operated by Rīgas satiksme will be free of charge on May 4, 5 and 6, except for those located in Old Riga and the underground parking-lot in Valdemāra Street opposite the House of Congresses, where parking will be for pay.
