Most passengers in social media seek transport news

A considerable majority of passengers who follow the information published by "Rīgas satiksme" in social media mainly want to get to know quickly transport news and current traffic changes, according to the results of an opinion poll carried out on the website of Rīgas satiksme in October.

76 % of respondents believe that current information is the most important on Twitter, Facebook and Draugiem.lv. 10% of respondents want social media accounts of "Rīgas satiksme" to contain more photos and interesting facts in the future, but 9% want to receive answers to topical questions. 4% of respondents would like to get more information about the company’s daily operations and its staff. The survey involved more than 1000 "Rīgas satiksme" website visitors, and was carried out in October.

It should be reminded that Rīgas satiksme started to actively work on Twitter, Facebook and Draugiem.lv early in 2011. One year later, "Rīgas satiksme" accounts had1403 followers on Twitter, 457 on Facebook and 330 on Draugiem.lv.
