New customer centre to provide services of major municipal companies in one place
Riga Mayor Nils Ušakovs pointed out at the centre opening ceremony that the work of municipality is largely associated with solving different day-to-day problems of Riga residents, therefore it is very important to maintain a good quality of communication: „The level of service for visitors of Riga City Council must be similar to that of major banks or mobile communications operators. I hope that this new centre, which is located in the heart of the city, in a place which can be easily reached, is a step in this direction”.
Vice-Mayor Andris Ameriks emphasised that the centre is located in vast, functional premises, which enables its further development and improvement of services in the future. For example, there could be located a service point of several departments of Riga City Council and a bank branch, where customers could pay their utility bills. He also proposed to open a special play room for children here.
„Every year about 70 000 clients visit branches of Riga municipality’s Visitors Reception Centre, seeking assistance in solving various problems”, the head of the Visitors Reception Centre Inese Krustiņa said. She is convinced that the new centre will make the customer service much easier, allowing everybody to get all the necessary information about services of municipal companies in one place, in an easy and convenient way.
Riga Customer Centre is located in the ground floor and occupies an area of 383 square metres.
Municipal companies and the Visitors Reception Centre will offer here about 50 different services.
