New tram route „Imanta – Jugla” to open on May 17

„Rīgas satiksme” informs that new tram route No. 1 „Imanta - Jugla” will be opened on May 17 at 12:00 and several tram schedules will be also changed.

The following changes will be made in public transport traffic as of 12:00 of May 17:

  • new tram route No. 1 „Imanta - Jugla” will be opened and will be available on working days and holidays;
  • changes will be made in the schedules of tram route No. 4 on working days and holidays;
  • changes will be made in the schedules of tram route No. 6 on working days and holidays;
  • tram route No. 10 will be served by tram depot No. 3 and schedules on working days and holidays.

As of May 17 tram route No. 11 will be extended to Ausekļa Street and will be named „Ausekļa Street – Mežaparks”. Please see the working day schedule here, and the working day schedule here.

At the same time, we inform that monthly tickets for one tram route, for which the first registration was made until May 17 on tram route 4 or tram route 6, will be valid on tram route No.1 until the ticket’s expiry date without registering the trips.

As of Thursday, May 18, tram no. 3 will run from Jugla to Ķengarags along Krišjāņa Barona Street, Radio Street, the 13th January Street and further by the route. The route’s stop „Aspazijas Boulevard” will be replaced stop „Railway Terminal Square”. The route’s schedule will also change. In the direction of Jugla, trams will run without any changes.

The latest information about changes will be available at tram stops before the changes take effect.
