On March 5, during the procession, there will be changes in public transport traffic
“Rīgas satiksme” informs that on Saturday, March 5, from 6.00 to approximately 15.00, during the procession and event dedicated to the support of Ukraine, changes will be made to the traffic of certain buses and trolleybuses. In the vicinity of these events, the vehicle traffic may be temporarily stopped. Furthermore, certain routes of public transport will be reorded.
From 6.00 to approximately 15.00, the vehicle traffic in Kalpaka Boulevard in the section from Elizabetes Street to K.Valdemāra Street will be closed. Changes during this period:
- Trolleybus route No. 19 from the final point “Pētersalas Street”, will be closed, therefore trolleybuses from the first trip until approx. 15.00, will run along a partially changed route. In the direction of the final point “Ziepniekkalns”, trolleybuses will start movement from the stop of the trolleybus route No. 15 “Latvijas Universitāte” located in Inženieru Street and will run along the route to Valdeķu Street. Further along Valdeķu Street, Ozolciema Street to the stop “Ziepniekkalna D/P”, which is the final point of trolleybus route No. 4. Whereas, in the opposite direction from the same final point, trolleybuses route No. 19 will run along Ozolciema Street, Valdeķu Street and further along the route to the stop “Latvijas Universitāte” in Inženieru Street, where trolleybuses route No. 15 stop. - Buses routes No. 2 and No. 24 in the direction of the final point “Vecmīlgrāvis” and “Mangaļsala”, will run respectively along the route to Kalpaka Boulevard. Further along Kalpaka Boulevard, K.Valdemāra Street, Dzirnavu Street, Pulkveža Brieža Street and further along the route. Whereas, in the direction to the final point “Abrenes Street”, buses will run along the route to Pulkveža Brieža Street. Further along Pulkveža Brieža Street, Elizabetes Street, K.Valdemāra Street and further along the usual route.
- Buses route No. 20 in the direction of the final point “Pētersalas Street” will run along the route to Kalpaka Boulevard. Further along Kalpaka Boulevard, K.Valdemāra Street, Dzirnavu Street, Pulkveža Brieža Street and further along the route.
- Vehicles of certain routes that depart from the trolleybus depot No. 1 and have the route along Ganību dambis, during the said period, will run along Duntes Street. Whereas, certain trolleybuses route No. 15, which have to run from the final point “Ķengarags” to the trolleybus depot, will run along the route to Kalpaka Boulevard. Further along Kalpaka Boulevard, K.Valdemāra Street, Duntes Street, Dambja Street to the trolleybus depot No. 1.
From 11.20 to approximately 11.35, a procession will be organized from the Freedom Monument to Kalpaka Boulevard. During the procession, there may be difficulties in the movement of trolleybuses routes No. 5, No. 25 and buses routes No. 13, No. 37, No. 41, No. 53. There will be the following changes:
- Trolleybuses route No. 3 and buses route No. 11, in the direction of the final point “Centrāltirgus” and “Abrenes Street”, respectively, will be diverted along K.Valdemāra Street, Elizabetes Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard and further along the route. There will be no changes in the traffic in the opposite direction and the vehicles will run as usual.
- Buses routes No. 2 and No. 24, in the direction of the final point “Abrenes Street”, will be diverted along Elizabetes Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard and further along the route.
