Passengers also readily use social media to get information about services of "Rīgas satiksme"

More than 25% of participants of an opinion poll conducted on "Rīgas satiksme" website admitted that they plan or have already started using social media to get information about public transport traffic and services of "Rīgas satiksme".

"Rīgas satiksme" opened its profiles on TwitterFacebook and Draugiem on October 3.

7% respondents admitted that they get information from Twitter, 7% use Facebook, 8% prefer Draugiem, and 45% use several social media on a daily basis. A majority, 74%, still get information from "Rīgas satiksme" website.

More than 3600 of "Rīgas satiksme" website participated in the opinion poll which was conducted in October.

The opinion poll was also conducted on Draugiem, where respondents’ answers were similar to those of "Rīgas satiksme" website. A majority admitted visiting www.rigassatiksme.lv for the latest information regarding public transport. Only a bit fewer of respondents answered that they get or would like to get information just from Draugiem.

In October, the website of "Rīgas satiksme" was visited more than 657 000 times, but information about transport news was searched more than 1.5 million times. Information about public transport schedules at http://saraksti.rigassatiksme.lv was requested almost 5 million times.
