Public transport routes and some stops to change as of January 1, 2011

As public transport routes, schedules and some bus stops will change as of January 1, 2011, "Rīgas satiksme" calls on Riga residents and guests to pay attention to these changes in advance. At the same time, "Rīgas satiksme" emphasises that the total number of public transport runs will not be reduced and these changes are made to synchronise departure and arrival times and to make the use of public transport more comfortable for passengers.

Trolleybus passengers shall pay particular attention to these changes, which will affect all trolleybus timetables for workdays and holidays. There will be also changes in workday and holiday schedules of bus routes No. 1, 2, 3, 5, 11, 13, 14, 21, 24, 33, 37, 40 and 41. Bus route No. 36 will have one departure time changed in its holiday timetable. There will be major changes in the timetables of bus routes No. 2 and 24. They will be adjusted to the passenger flow and planned so as to prevent buses of the two almost fully overlapping routes from arriving at bus stops simultaneously. No changes will be made in tram routes and timetables.

Given passengers’ proposals, two bus routes, No. 19 Jugla-3 – Bukulti – Sarkandaugava and No. 29 Jugla-3 – Vecmīlgrāvis, will be extended to Mežciems as of January 1, 2011. Buses on both routes will run from either Sarkandaugava or Vecmīlgrāvis to Jugla terminal, without driving in it, then will turn to Juglas Street and go down Juglas Street, Malienas Street, Hipokrāta Street to Mežciems terminal and back. Due to the extension of the two routes their timetables will be also changed accordingly.

Also from January 1 bus No. 43, which starts from terminal Abrenes Street at 7.50 and 8.30, will drive in Piņķi and then run further to the terminal in Skulte.

There will be also some changes in public transport stops as of January 1, 2011. Bus stop 7th line on bus routes No. 4 and 4z will be renamed Imanta 7th line in both directions. A new bus-stop, Krievupes Street, will be opened on bus route No. 28, also in both directions, but buses No. 11 and 33 will get a new stop, Vītolu Street, on the way from the city centre.
