Retro tram gives Riga a breath of history
70% of those who participated in the opinion poll held at www.rigassatiksme.lv in May said that Riga’s Retro tram gives the city a breath of history.
Asked "How do you evaluate Riga’s Retro-tram running in summer?", 14% of respondents said that they like the old tram, 2% said that it allows experiencing new feelings, and 904 or 70% said that the Retro tram gives Riga a breath of history. 14% of respondents said that they did not notice such a tram running in Riga. 1546 answers were received in total during the opinion poll.
"Rīgas satiksme" reminds that the Retro tram runs from May 1 till September 27 on Saturdays, Sundays and festive days, it is also leased out for individual trips in appropriate weather conditions. Riga’s Retro tram is an electric tramcar model dating back to 1909-1910, which was fully restored in 1982, using old photos and technical drawings.
