"Rīgas satiksme" calls on students of vocational training institutions and disabled persons of group 3 to visit customer service centres at Spīķeru Street 1 and Brīvības street 49/53

Given the fact that starting from March 13 students of vocational training institutions and disabled persons of group 3 having declared their place of residence in Riga, can use Riga public transport free of charge, "Rīgas satiksme" calls on these categories of customers to visit customer service centres at Spīķeru Street 1 (terminal of trolleybuses No. 3 and 13) and Brīvības Street 49/53 (former premises of Rīgas Modes). Clients will be serviced in other customer service centres of "Rīgas satiksme" as well, yet they are much busier.

Disabled persons of group 3 who already use personalised e ticket

To use public transport free of charge, this category of passengers have to take their personalised e-tickets, disabled person’s certificates and identity documents (passport or driver’s licence) and visit one of Rīgas satiksme customer service centres, which are located at Brīvības Street 191, Prāgas Street 1, Spīķeru Street 1, Brīvības Street 384b, Vienības gatve 76b, Kurzemes Avenue 137. Most of the customer service centres  are open from 9.00 till 19.00 on workdays and from 10.00 till 16.00 on Saturdays. The customer service centre at Spīķeru Street 1 is open also on Sundays from 10.00 till 16.00, but that of Brīvības Street 49/53 is open from 8.00 till 19.00 on workdays and from 10.00 till 15.00 on Saturdays. In the customer service centres, a zero tariff ticket will be loaded onto the personalised e-tickets of these categories of customers, and they will start using the discount once it takes effect.

Students of Riga’s vocational training institutions who already use personalised e tickets

On March 12-19 the mobile customer service centres of Rīgas satiksme will visit vocational training institutions, in which the zero tariff ticket will be loaded onto student’s e-tickets (more information will be available at vocational training institutions). In case the 100% discount was not loaded onto the student’s e-ticket, he/she has to visit one of the above customer service centres, taking with him/her an identity document or a certificate issued by the vocational training institution (these documents have to certify that the student is receiving basic vocational education, professional education or professional secondary education).

Those having no personalised e ticket

Those students of vocational training institutions and disabled persons of group 3 who have not received their personalised e-tickets as yet, have to take their identity documents and documents certifying their status and visit one of Rīgas satiksme customer service centres, where they will be given personalised e-tickets.

Rīgas satiksme urges customers to visit the customer service centres in time. Students of vocational training institutions and disabled persons of group 3 will be allowed to use public transport free of charge from the moment when these regulations take affect until April 30, after presenting a certificate of student of vocational training institution or disabled person of group 3.

Students of professional training institutions and disabled persons of group 3 will be able to reclaim money for the unused tickets at Rīgas satiksme customer service centres within 12 months after presenting their personalised e-ticket and identity documents.
