"Rīgas satiksme" to increase intensity of public transport traffic to Mežaparks during Riga children and youth music festival "Mēs pilsētai ceRīgai"
On June 1, due to rehearsals in Mežaparks, there will be changes in the schedule of tram route No. 11 and trams will run more frequently.
On June 2, due to the festival’s rehearsal/concert in Mežaparks, there will be additional trams on route No. 11 and additional buses on routes No. 9 and 48. A special trolleybus route No 3A "Central market – Sarkandaugava – Mežaparks", will be also organised, with trolleybuses running from the city centre from 6:30 till 8:30, from 15:00 until the beginning of the concert and after the concert.
On June 1 and 2 the participants of the music festival will be allowed to use public transport free of charge (except routes of increased service level – minibuses, Retro tram, nigh buses) upon presenting the participant’s badge.
Passengers wishing to take the Retro tram should take into account that on June 1 and 2 the traffic intensity on route No. 11 will be increased, therefore the Retro tram may deviate from its schedule.
On June 2 the visitors of the music festival will be offered to buy yellow e-tickets and to reload blue e-tickets for cash, if necessary, in a special "Rīgas satiksme" bus marked e talona tirdzniecība, which will stand near the entrance of Riga zoo at the crossing of Meža Avenue and Kokneses Avenue, from 14:00 till 22:00. So, those passengers having forgotten to buy tickets will be offered to buy them, and will not have to buy tickets from drivers at an increased price.
