Some minibus routes operated by RMS to change

There will be some changes in minibus routes operated by “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme” as of May 5. Schedules will be changed by increasing the total number of runs, cutting intervals, and new routes will be opened.

Route No. 200 Railway Terminal Square – Vecdaugava, 

Route No. 224 Railway Terminal Square – Mangaļsala 

The number of runs on minibus routes No. 200 and 224 will be increased on working days and Saturdays due to the increasing passenger flow. 15 minibuses will run on these routes on working days and Saturdays, and the total number of runs will reach 264, including 48 to Mangaļsala. Sunday schedules will not change. 

Route No. 206 Bus station – Mežciems

Working day and holiday schedules will be changed to improve the possibilities for passengers to reach   Mežciems, t/c Alfa and the Bus station in more convenient time. The planned number of minibuses on the route will not change. 

Route No. 214 Central railway terminal – Dreiliņi

Working day and holiday schedules will be changed, taking into consideration passengers’ habits and to make departure times of minibuses more convenient. On working days, the last minibuses will run from Dreiliņi at 21.20 and from the Central market at 21.57. 

Route No. 216 Centre – Ķengarags

Given the increasing passenger flow on working days, the number of runs and minibuses on route No, 216 will be increased. The total number of runs will reach 294. In morning and evening hours, when people go to work and home, intervals between runs will be reduced from 7-8 minutes to 6 minutes. 

Route No. 217 Centre – Pļavnieki

A new test route will be opened as of May 5 for three months following Riga residents’ requests. During this time, the company will analyze passenger flow and the needs for the route. Taking into consideration passengers’ habits and in order to make minibus services available on route Pļavnieki – Purvciems – Brīvības Street – Centre, some sections of the route will be improved: 

The new route from the city centre – Tērbatas Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Pērnavas Street, A.Čaka Street, Ieriķu Street, Dzelzavas Street, Ilūkstes Street, M. Keldiša Street, A. Saharova Street, Katlakalna Street. In direction from Pļavnieki – Katlakalna Street, A. Saharova Street, M. Keldiša Street, Ilūkstes Street, Dzelzavas Street, Vaidavas Street, Ieriķu Street, A. Čaka Street, Pērnavas Street, Brīvības Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard, Brīvības Boulevard, Baumaņa Square, Tērbatas Street. 

Route No. 233 Centre – Ziepniekkalns

Taking care of passengers’ comfort, the number of runs on workdays will be increased to 252 and on Saturdays to 224. There will be no significant changes in departure times of the first runs from the Central Railway Terminal and Ziepniekkalns. 

Route No. 238 Imanta – Pļavnieki

To provide passengers with the possibility of going comfortably from Imanta to Pļavnieki by one transport without transfer, two routes, No. 208 Autoosta – Pļavnieki and No. 238 Centre – Imanta will be united and a new route No. 238 Imanta – Pļavnieki will be opened. The number of runs on this route will be increased on working days to 122. The number of runs on holidays will not change. 

The new route in direction from Imanta – Kurzemes Avenue, Slokas Street, Dzirciema Street, Vīlipa Street, Melnsila Street, Lapu Street, Nometņu Street, Bāriņu Street, Uzvaras Boulevard, Akmens Bridge, 11th November Embankment, 13th January Street, Marijas Street, Satekles Street, Elizabetes Street, E. Birznieka-Upīša Street, Lāčplēša Street, Avotu Street, A. Deglava Street, A. Saharova Street. In direction from Pļavnieki – A. Saharova Street, A. Deglava Street, Tallinas Street, A. Čaka Street, Marijas Street, 13th January Street, 11th November Embankment, Akmens Bridge, Uzvaras Boulevard, Bāriņu Street, Nometņu Street, Lapu Street, Melnsila Street, Vīlipa Street, Dzirciema Street, Slokas Street, Kurzemes Avenue. 

Route No. 246 Central railway terminal – Daugavgrīva

To provide residents of Daugavgrīva and Bolderāja with the possibility to reach the city centre earlier on working days and holidays, the departure time of the first run on route No. 246 will be changed. The first minibus from Daugavgrīva will go at 5.23 (now at 5.48). The last minibus from the Central Railway Terminal on workdays will run at 21.56 (now at 21.39). On holidays, the first minibus will run from the Central Railway Terminal at 6.08, but departure times of minibuses from Daugavgrīva will not change. 

Route No. 271 P. Stradiņš hospital – hospital “Linezers”

Given the intensive passenger flow in morning and evening hours, the interval will be cut to 14 – 20 minutes (now 20- 25 min). The number of runs and minibuses will not changes.

We also remind that everybody can use the mobile application of “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme”, where one can quickly and conveniently see  minibus schedules, departure times from minibus stops, as well as trace the location of a minibus on line. It should be taken into account that data transmission in mobile phone may be delayed, so passengers should go to minibus stops in time. General partnership “Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme” (RMS) was established on October 24, 2012 and employs 450 people. The company operates 21 urban routes with 171 modern and comfortable Volkswagen and Mercedes minibuses.
