The passengers still have to use respiratory cover and observe distance in the public transport; tickets cannot be bought from the vehicle driver

Although the emergency situation in the country has been lifted, the precautionary measures introduced in the public transport are still valid and “Rīgas satiksme” reminds that the passengers still have to use mouth and nose cover during the use of public transport. Due to safety reasons tickets also cannot be bought from the driver and entering or exiting the busses and trolley-busses will be organized through the middle or rear doors.

Starting from June 10 the enclosed driver’s zone will be gradually reduced and in the future it will be limited from the driver’s cabin to the first seat, so there will be more space in the vehicle salons for passengers to stand or sit. The marking placed on the seats for the purpose of observing the distance will be gradually removed and the passengers will be able to occupy these seats as well. It is important to remember that the seats were marked to help observing the distancing condition. We remind that every passenger must use respiratory cover during the ride and it is especially important to use these when  sitting close to each other.

“Rīgas satiksme” invites passengers to be understanding and observe safety so that everyone could enjoy pleasant and safe rides. To avoid unnecessary crowding at the stops and when entering the vehicle, the passengers are invited to do so gradually, one after another. The driver of the public transport will close the doors only when the passengers will have entered or exited.
