There will be changes in the operation of public transport and parking lots during New Year holidays; on December 31 and January 1 all passengers will be able to use public transport free of charge
"Rīgas satiksme" reminds that pursuant to Riga City Council regulations all passengers can use public transport free of charge on December 31 and January 1. "Rīgas satiksme" also informs that there will be changes in the operation of public transport (including minibuses and night buses) and parking lots during the New Year holidays. There will be additional public transport runs in the night of December 31/January 1.
On December 31 and on January 1, 2 public transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams) will run according to holiday schedule, but on January 10 according to workday schedules, because of the workday transfer.
Those passengers having bought one-month tickets for workdays should take into account that these will not be valid on January 2 (Friday) due to the workday transfer, yet these tickets will be valid on January 10 (Saturday).
For passengers to go to the places where festive events will be held and return home comfortably, extra public transport will be provided in the night from December 31 to January 1, from approximately 21:00 till 4:00. There will be extra runs on tram routes No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11, on bus routes No. 3, 11, combined 12/23/26 (see the map of the combined route here), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 50, 51 and 53, and on trolleybus routes No. 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27.

On December 31 and January 1, 2 minibuses will run according to Sunday’s schedule, but on January 2 according to Saturday’s schedule. We also remind that passengers will have to pay for using the night transport in the night of December 31/January 1.
The night transport will run in the night of December 31/January 1, January 9/10 and January 10/11. The night transport will not be available in the night of January 2/3 and January 3/4. We also remind that passengers have to pay for using the night transport.
The pay parking lots of Riga municipality, which are operated by "Rīgas satiksme", will be free of charge on December 31 and January 1, except for the underground parking lot next to the House of Congresses, where parking services will be for pay. On January 2 and 10 parking lots will operate according to Saturday’s schedules.
Customer service centres will be closed on December 31 and January 1, but on January 2 and 4 the centre at Spīķeru Street 1 will be open for customers’ convenience (from 10:00 till 16:00). On January 3 all customer service centres will be open according to Saturday’s schedule (from 10:00 till 16:00), except for the centre located at Brīvības ielā 49/53. On January 10 all customer service centres will be open according to the workday schedule.
