Yellow ticket with drawing of Kristaps Pogulis is ready
“Rīgas satiksme” informs that as of January 31 a new yellow e-ticket with the drawing made by Kristaps Pogulis printed on it will become gradually available in places of selling public transport tickets. The drawing is dedicated to Latvia’s 100th anniversary. 1,000,000 tickets have been issued in total.
We remind that in May 2017 “Rīgas satiksme” organised a drawings contest to create a new design of the yellow e-ticket, and invited 21 pupils from Riga Sanatory-Boarding School to make drawings dedicated to Latvia’s 100th anniversary. During more than one month, voting took place on “Rīgas satiksme” website to choose the best drawing, and that made by Kristaps Pogulis gained a majority of votes (667). 3113 votes were given in total for the drawings.
It is the eighth such contest organised by “Rīgas satiksme“, which invites little Rigans to make drawings on various subjects and create a new design for the yellow e-ticket. In 2016, pupils from the Children’s and Youth Basketball School „Riga” participated in the contest, and their drawings were dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Riga’s trolleybus. As part of the contest, every visitor of ”Rīgas satiksme” web site could vote for the best drawing once a day, thus participating in the creation of the yellow e-ticket’s new design.
The new design of yellow e-ticket does not affect its functionality and usage in public transport. Passengers can buy the yellow e-ticket with tickets for a certain number of trips, time tickets and group tickets.
