Hydrogen refueling is a new process that requires certain skills and caution therefore refueling of the vehicles is performed by the operator. When you arrive at the station, please call +371 27210510

At the hydrogen production and refueling station, hydrogen is produced as a result of the steam-reforming process. The plant can produce 300 kg of hydrogen per day and to build up supplies of 600 kg of hydrogen. A 350Bar refueling unit has been built at the station, which is primarily intended for refueling of “Rīgas satiksme” trolleybuses, furthermore, a 700Bar refueling unit is available for public access - refueling of light vehicles. Public access to the constructed hydrogen refueling stations also secures hydrogen fuel to other users of hydrogen electric vehicles (FCEVs).

Within the project “H2Node”, “Rīgas satiksme” received 10 trolleybuses, for which diesel generators providing reserve traction power were replaced with the new generation hydrogen fuel cell modules that demonstrate innovative technical solutions in public transport infrastructure, optimize bus and trolleybus routes of public transport, facilitate public transport accessibility and reduce local GHG gas pollution.

The European Union co-finances 50% of the total costs of “Rīgas satiksme” project, which totals EUR 16.1 million. Funding comes from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), which invests in the EU infrastructure priorities in the field of transport, energy and telecommunications.
